What is your Life Vision?
If you had all the money in the world, what would you do?
It’s something you hear people chatting about over a couple beers at dive bars. Or at least it’s something I’ve heard a few times working in bars. People usually say “I’d go travel to this place,” or “I’d buy a Ferrari".” For many, the unspoken action they’d immediately take is quitting their day job that makes them so miserable.
For most of us, it’s probably been a while since you sat down and thought about your “vision” of your life- what you really want to do with your life.
Is it being your own boss? Serving your community? Finding a role within a company that utilizes your strengths and brings you fulfillment? Or is it having a family and supporting them?
There’s a good chance your vision of your life, the things you want to achieve deep down, don’t align with what others expect of you. And that’s okay.
It’s okay if the role people expect you to play in their lives differs from the role you want to play in the world. It’s okay if you really, deep down, want to do something different than what you’ve been doing for the past thirty years, and you realized too late (news flash, it’s actually never too late to achieve that vision)!
As a coach, I give you (the person reading this) permission to pursue the vision of your life that you want to have, whether or not other people will understand it. It’s your vision, and it’s okay to be a little selfish when chasing your deepest desires.
Whether you’ve considered life coaching or not, it’s worth taking the time to think about what kind of life you want to create. It’s one of the primary focuses of life coaching, since the whole operation revolves around your (the client’s) vision.
Pursuing the things that make us happy is fundamental to one’s sense of fulfillment. Therefore, you have my permission to be a little selfish when it comes to chasing down your vision. Fill your cup before filling someone else’s, or yours will go empty.
